Now, you might say that it’s simply a matter of the Dexter discs being extremely popular. They get a lot of wear and tear, and are more likely to suffer the scratches that stop a DVD in its tracks. But … a small part of me wonders, is there a Netflix curse when it comes to Dexter?

It makes sense, then, that the show’s official Showtime Web site would be a bit dark, too. For instance, the site has a series of Dexter-inspired games. Among them is the body bag toss.
But last night’s episode, “About Last Night,” changed all that. This was one powerful episode, easily the most intriguing of this season. I won’t spoil too much. But if you haven’t yet watched, the odds are high you’ll come away with a whole new appreciation of Jimmy Smits’ character.
